About Me

Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Okay, sup? How you doing? Good! But you're probably here to know about me. I'm Sophie and I'm 15, grade 9, Asian, bla bla bla. I like a lot of stuff! Like books, music, MOVIES (if you want to know which ones, just go down to the bottom)! I want to be a director when I grow up, sooooo fun!! And I've got lots of friends, well, not lots, but a fair bit. People call me hard-working, or just a nerd. I am a nerd, a hard-core nerd, you got a problem with that? Good. I'm also just hard-core, I mean, I've got people's backs, I fight for what I believe in, I say what's on my mind, I don't sway with the crowd. Yeah, anything else? If you have any more questions (Which you probably don't, because you probably know me in real life, and you'll know that Sophie Tribiani doesn't exit, at least I hope I didn't steal someone else's name o.O....) Just read some of my posts, I've got lots!

2012

Isn't it a great way to finish the year? By watching 2012? It was a great and freaky movie. But it was really just a lot of special effects and cinamatography. It has a touching, but too predictable movie. Like we all know who's going to die and who isn't, it was too obvious, it didn't have a really good story. But the effects are just fanominal. Look at me, I sound like a critic!! Yeah, like I can make a better movie or story, I'm so blind when it comes to myself, I'm a self-absorbed fool (Though I don't hope you take that seriously, I still want to think I'm good at some things).

Oh, and Happy New Year!! I have this tradition of my own, at the last twenty seconds of the year, I reflect on everything that has happened in the year and make my resolutions. Though my resolutions aren't that good. You know, just have a good year, be nice, hope everything stays the same and wonderful, all that stuff. There'll be the occasional "loose two pounds" or something, but just keeping it simple. I don't like the New Year really, I feel like life's passing before my eyes and I can do nothing to stop it. I've got to leave behind something I've gotten very used to and have to move on, and I don't like that. It's tiring to reflect the year and to make resolutions. It's like the last seconds of the year should be used to plan out your new one, and it'll be the same next year as well, and the next, and I just want it to stay the same time, I mean, I love my life and I don't really want to look back at it and not be happy. That's why I know what I want in life, and I know that I want to make my life memorable to both myself and others. I want to make a dent in history or society. And I want to look back at my life and say that I have no regrets. I know it sounds very deep and emo for a thirteen year old girl, but it's what I want, and I'm goin to get it, one year at a time.

Well, he darn good at it too. Happy Birthday.

Sad Song

I'm in love with a song right now. I can't get it out of my head, and I can listen to it over and over again without getting tired of it at all. It's so sad, like in the lyrics there's really sad statements. Like "I'll do anything for you", and "I did everything for you" and "I've called you children and I've called you son, but what is the difference if I'm the only one?". It's so sad, and I love it. I'll put it on the video bar over there. It was on the OC with Johnny's funeral, so it's supposed to be sad.

Quote of the day:
"Green and black go well together, don't they?" Tiger Woods

Haha, they do, don't they, but I guess they don't go well with women. Happy birthday, you old chump.

Okay, it doesn't seem like the video bar is working, and even if it's not, then it doesn't give a good search of the proper song. So here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVZcAzXWciQ
It's called For the Widows in Paradise, For the Fatherless in Ypsilanti, but Sufjan Steven.

Similar Movies

I watched a video on Youtube today that's sort of like SNL in England, it's called Extras, I think. And there was one with Kate Winslet in it and it was hillarious. She was acting for some movie about the holocaust, and really in the video she had no care for the movie, she just wanted to get an Oscar. She complained about being nominated so many times and never winning even one. It's funny because she seems like a great person on the interviews and such, but in the SNL style thing, she was an absolute monster. Like she was weird and just a horrible person. She did say something that I find too. Any movie that involved World War II, it wins some kind of Oscar. Even her movie, the Reader, that was about WWII and that got her an Oscar. And also movies where actors are mentally disabled, an Oscar grabber as well. Like Rain Man, Dustin Hoffman, and like I Am Sam, but I'm not sure if that won an Oscar or not, I don't know. It's funny to see how certain movies are likely to attract a certain audience than others.

Quote of the day:
"A story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end... but not necessarily in that order." Jean-Luc Godard

Well, I've noticed that in movies too, it adds suspension, I guess.

SCIENCE FAIR PROJECTS

Today was supposed to be my day of getting my poster for the science fair started. But I had no idea how to do it or what it consisted of. In other words, I don't know anything about science fairs or their posters. I've looked through all the criteria sheets that Ms. Smedley gave us and I've now got somewhat of an idea of this project poster and what it's going to look like. I got the poster on Saturday, and thought it was too big, but apparantly it was just the right size. So that leads to how the heck am I going to fill that big of a poster up with data that I have no idea how to display. I guess I shouldn't be freaking out about the poster, since others have barely started to collect data. But it's just so frustrating to know that you've got this golden time in your hands and it's running out. And when school starts up again, I'll be so busy that there will not be that much time for me to work on the science fair thing, which means that it'll be lacking in quality. But really, I guess I have everything ready, and I'm just putting myself in panic mode so I can get it done better and faster.

Happy Boxing Day!!

LoL, there's no winning in a debate about whether or not Titanic is a chic flic or not, so there's not point in arguing. (note: wow, working on Christmas, are you, Mr. Olson??)

Anyway, happy Boxing Day. Today was truelly a fulfilling day and a tiresome one as well. We went to both Richmond Center and Lansdowne, and my mother even had the urge to go to Metrotown, but I was able to fight it down. Any way, got some clothing that I really like, but enough of the girly stuff about clothing that will make no difference to any of your lives and is just a waste of time to you all.

Merry Christmas

Before I become all nice and jolly for the holidays, I would just like to point out that Titanic was not a chic flic. If you consider Terminator as a chic flic, then it is. But if you don't, the Titanic shouldn't be one either. It had so much action in it and drama, and if you even consider that scene where the valid drops the keys and Jack and Rose were trapped behind the metal gates and the water was rising up, I'd even say that's part horror. There was the dark water, blood hurtling scream, I mean, yeah, it was pretty freaky.

Well, that wasn't something nice to talk about on Christmas, any way, Merry Christmas, hope every one's enjoying their holidays. Tomorrow is actually where our family tradition rolls in. It's Boxing Day tomorrow, and our tradition is in the mall. You'll probably think it's a nice day shopping, but it isn't. It's hard work! You get there the very earliest and you go and search for what's on sale, and when you find something, you hold on to it for dear life. It's like the best buy commercial, the guy on the treadmill, it's not pretty at all. One more week until school, the News Year's finally approaching, not that I think it's been a long year, I actually thought it went by way too fast. Good wishes to all for the New Year, hopefully some funny New Year Resolutions are made so we can have some laughs when school starts up again.

Wow, then it's a sad holiday after all.

Jumper

First of all, LOL, Mr Olson, you watched the Nanny Diaries? Isn't that a chic flic? Well, I guess that's not fair, one of the most man-ish kind of boy I know loves the Titanic. Then again, Titanic, I don't consider a chic flic.

Anyway, I just watched Jumper, now that I have it. It's not bad, pretty good for my taste. They say in the special features that it wasn't supposed to be a special effects movie, but I think it had to be a special effects movie for it to have worked. And it was that kind of movie, and it was awesome. I loved it.

Well, I don't like poems that much, and movies are so much more complex. Happy birthday Howard Hughes, wow, and on Christmas Eve too.

OMG

OMG, I just got three more DVDs, and all for only $10 in all!! That's awesome!! I got Jumper, The Nanny Diaries, and of course, Ocean's Thirteen. Jumper was apparently from the director that made The Bourne Identity and Mister and Mrs. Smith. That movie was good. Two assasins that got married and are living together, and finally they get bored of each other and attemped to kill each other. It's funny. And I didn't even know that The Bourne Identity first of all was made by a different director from the rest of the trilogy, like Supremacy and Ultimatum, they were made by Paul Greangrass, which is not the director of this movie. Weird. I didn't even know that Identity and Mr. and Mrs. Smith had the same director. Also weird. Any way, I just love today!!

Twilight

So, after a lot of thinking, I made a decision to watch the movei Twilight. I thought it would be terrible, going in with a really bad attitude. But it was somewhat better than I had expected. Still, I don't know what all the fuss is about, it wasn't that good. I mean, it was really cheezy, and I generally like scenes that are quick, and if there's any awkward part, that people start to talk even more. I don't like the staring into the eyes kind of thing. I mean, I don't like Jacob, but he seems better for Bella, they talk a lot easier, and I think that's better. That's why all my characters that become a couple are first best friends. They have things to talk about, and things they can do together, they feel less awkward. Your life partner should be someone you're comfortable with. I mean, I appreciate the intensity of love, there's nothing wrong with that, but sooner or later, that dies out, and what is there left?

Haha, funny, I think it's at Toronto, no?

Movies

LOL, I have not watched so many movies in day before, and it's only the first day of winter break, imagine how many I'll watch in the course of these two weeks! My mom's at work, and my dad's not home, so it's just me. So I'll have to have something to occupy myself with. I've just finished the whole Bourne series, and the Ocean's Eleven, which I have already watched, plus I saw the Chorus in the morning and the second disc of Titanic. It's not even the end of the day yet. If anyone has any good movies that they don't think I've seen, please suggest!!

Rain rain go away

They say a little rain won't hurt me now, but I beg to differ. Clearly I shouldn't be living in Vancouver. It's raining so much, and I hate it!! It ruins your clothes and gets all your stuff wet, and either you have to carry around an umbrella, or you get all your books wet. I hate rain! I remember more than one time when we went to camp, and it rained for the whole week. We couldn't have fun in the rain, we couldn't do anything but stay in the boy's tent and watch Jurasstic Park. Every tent was damp and wet and smelled of stinky feet and mould. The only fun thing we did was swim in the evening after going for pizza, the water was so warm compared to weather.

Well, here in Vancouver, it's just rain.

Story time

Today, there was not much to do. So for most of the day I read my book for the Independent Reading Program, and I'm getting hooked. Though it's getting near to the end of the book, it's still very interesting. The climax is always at the end, isn't it? But I wouldn't consider it one of my favourites yet.

Yesterday I saw a video on youtube that I've viewed before, and loved it. It's a fanmade trailer for the book called the Book Thief, I've read it before, and it's a wonderful book, I would have to say one of my favourites of all time. And if you haven't seen the movies she's used for the trailer or knew that it was fan made, you would think it was the real thing. There is however a real movie for it coming out sometime this year, but I'm getting antsy just waiting for it already. I also can't wait for the Lightning Thief to come out as well. Here's the link and I'll put it at the video bar. You have to watch it.

I think you need to have read the book to really understand the greatness of the movie. There's so many parts of the book resembled by the clip.

On the video bar, it's the second one if you get it to work, because sometimes it just goes to most popular videos instead of listening to my commands.

Last day of school

Today we practically did nothing, almost just like yesterday. I love the last days of school before a break, you get to do nothing. Yesterday we had a juge party in the morning, and then played cards in Socials, and then played some more cards in Science. Today we only had fourty minute classes. We did a little bit of square dancing in PE, then we watched Mr. Bean's Christmas in Strings, and played cards in Math, and finally talked about movies in French. Yes, we played a lot of cards, with practically the same people.

Quote of the day:
"Every time I go to a movie, it's magic, no matter what the movie's about." Steven Spieldberg

That's how I feel. I now have the tendency to not watch the film at all, and instead look at how the camera's set, what the background is like and all that stuff. I like to watch the behind the scenes clips because I feel like that adds on to the understanding of the film and makes it even more believable, though a lot of others disagree.

WHAT!!

What?? We'll be having a film study unit?? That's freaking awesome!!!!

Okay, I've noticed that making a period film would be much harder than making other films because everything would've had to be accorate. I'm watching the Titanic with historical cometation, and the detail that you have to consider about how people acted and how sets were built and how things happened had to be as it was in that time in history. The set, I think, is the hardest part because you have to make it look like what it was back then to the absolute square inch. But it's great to see how much thought and mindfulness that had to go into the movie to make it what it is.

Quote of the day:
"Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy." Ludwig van Beethoven

It is, not always on its own, though, somethings it's better in a movie and with a scene. Like every single time I hear a song, I imagine it in a scene of some sort in order to actually understand what kind of music it was.

Movie Right to the Red Necklace

My favourite books, the Red Necklace and the Silver Blade, according to their author's blog, have just been signed for the movie rights, which means they'll be making a movie on it. Originally, I myself wrote two screenplays for the two books, just for fun, and I dreamed of making the film, but I now notice that I'm happier letting others do it. I now just can't wait until it comes out, which will be horrible for me because it'll come out in about a year or two, which will be such a long process that would drive me crazy with anxiety.

Firsts

Today is so full of firsts. Like today we got our first report card of highschool, and we have our first concert in highschool, and it's the first time I've ever gotten an Honour Roll, I'm so giddy with joy right now!! I love getting rewarded for my hard work, of course. Some of my friends got it too, and I'm so happy for them. But something happedened today that I wasn't very proud of, something about a teacher, but I won't mention it today, cause it's my happy day and she's not going to ruin it. It's just something of difference of opinion.

I still know everything

LOL, Mr. Olson. The Titanic actually had two sister ships, one Britannic and one Olympic. Olympic was made earlier and Britannic later. Olympic hit another ship on her maiden voyage, but didn't sink, and made many more trips after that. Britannic went down in 1916 while serving as a hospital ship and crossed over a German mine. My next NaNoWriMo is actually going to be Saving Our Ships, it's about seven sinking ships and the people on them. The Titanic, the Britannic, Poseidon, The City of Bernares and some other ships that I haven't found yet.

That was easy, and I answered it without using Google, or any thing else. I found out about Olympic in the information book for the Titanic, and I found out about Britannic in one of my friend's books about the biggest disasters on the sea of all time.

YEAH

No matter how much the next week is full of tests, it doesn't matter. This is the best weekend ever!! I just got the Titanic DVD yesterday for an early Christmas present!! I'm so happy!! I've never liked a present this much in my life. That is the movie that got me into movies. That's the best movie in the world. I know every single thing about both the Titanic and the movie. It won 11 oscars, made $1.8 billion, and took $200 million to create, it's three hours and fifteen mintues long and was more expensive than the real Titanic. See? I know everything!! I've watched the movie for more than ten times now and numerous movies by James Cameron and others with the actors in them. And now I finally own it!!

Tests Tests Tests!!

We've got three tests on Tuesday!! Plus, we've got the Right Plane due and the comic strip for science due Thursday! I'm never going to finish! Okay, again, I'm in panic mode. But if I think about it, I'm done studying social studies, and pratically done the comic strip. I've only got the fine lining to do on that. I've also got to paste the end and the wings to the plane and document it, but I've already finished the manual and just need to document it. But what if it doesn't fly, what if it fails!! Oh god!! I've still got to study science and do the science fair project. This is bad!!

War/No More Trouble

Wow, this song is awesome. It's got a great melody, it's just great. I love how so many people sings and there's one great voice in alone singing at a different pace or rhythm. It's the guy from U2!! I think this song is a little more haunting than the other ones. Like One Love was about being one and a whole. Stand By Me was about sticking together at the hard times and standing by each other when we need help. Both songs are about something positive. But this song is talking about stopping something horrible, war.

Homework at last minute

Today my group for the English project on the radio thing. It's due tomorrow and there was no possibility of doing it at lunch, because we didn't have any time and there was so much sounds too. So we decided to go to Angel's house, which pretty much saved us all. I've never handed in an assignment late, ever! And I was so scared that this was going to be my first time!! But now finally we are done, but it's still a little short. Since we have four people, Ms. Greskiw wanted five to six minutes, but we only have four minutes and 40 odd seconds.

Stand By Me

I love this song!! I love the old version, the one that was used in a movie that's name always escapes me. I just checked it out on Google and what do you know, it's called Stand By Me, directed by Rob Reiner. I think it's the right movie. This song, my dad says, talks about family and unity. Like if you have some problem or you need some help, there's always some one there for you. They changed it from a blues kind of song to an exotic kind of song, which is quite nice, actually. And I love how in the music video it tells you where all the people are, it gives you an idea of the whole world just playing one song, and that's great. When it says, If the sky that we look uponShould tumble and fallAnd the mountains should crumble to the sea, I think that means that no matter how much disaster comes our way, we'll stick together. I think it sounds great then and it sounds great now, I love it.

Quote of the day:

Well, either way, we do it together. Hey, just like the part in Gladiators we saw today in Socials, where Maximus was in the Colosseum fighting the men with chariots. He said we stick together, or we all die, or something like that. Such a good movie, Russel Crowe is officially on my great list!!

Cold days

Today was a really cold day. I noticed because strings, a lot of people's strings on their violins began to go out of tune and break. A lot of them say that their strings were really expensive and high quality, and yet they kept breaking and going out of tune. My strings are cheap Chinese ones, and yet they keep in tune very well. In fact, the only time that I had to replace a string was in the summer, and it was I who kept cranking the knobs and it stretched too far and broke. I love my violin, I named it Cookie Monster. Why, I don't know, but I sure love cookies!! (Random, I know :P)

Extensions and Reflections

Reflections Lesson 13
As a family, look back at the previous lessons. Which topics had the most impact on your family?

The Point of View lesson I think made the most impact on our family because usually we didn't care about how others felt in our household, but now that we all gotten more aware of other's feelings as well, we've been able to get along a lot nicer and a lot smoother. There's no blaming anymore, or much of disagreements, and I think it also has impacted the way we treat people outside our family as well, so that's good.

My usual blog:
I would have to first say that I have officially gotten this song on my iPod and it is really addicting. Every single time I really like a song, it was sort of call out to me as if it's saying "download me, download me" and I can never help but get the song all for myself so I can listen to it over and over again. (I've also heard this song for the commercial for Jamaica, weird)

Anyway, I think this song is really ethnic, yet it has a modern and old feeling to it, and that just gets a lot of people's attention because not a lot of songs can do that any more. It also gives you just a very united feeling, and that's great because so many things are happening in our world these days that we just don't have time for gatherings, and this song replaces it, sort of. It's could be a commercial song, or a song you sing around the camp fire, or a song where you have your arms around each other and everyone's in a circle and they are all swaying a little, enjoying themselves. This is great, I love it.

Current Events Fever

Instead of talking and presenting none up-to-date news with sweaty hands and like half the class listening, Mr. Sale made a website. How wonderful? And it's also like the most fun website I've visited. It's great, not only do you get marked for it, but you also get to talk with your friends. The people on the websites are supposed to be anonymous, but I think a lot of people know who each other is. Like everyone knows me because of my email address. I just hate having to remember so many names and passwords, and I know it's not safe, but it's better than having different names and passwords. So I guess if you know my password and name to one thing, you'll know it to everything else as well.

Christmas Shopping

I haven't been in a mall since October, and today I finally went back to it once more. I've never really liked going shopping. Like, with my friends, it's okay because I make them spend half the time in HMV, looking at all the movies, and manga stores and stuff. But just going like clothes shopping drives me crazy. My mom and I used to go every weekend, but now that I'm busy, I go less and less often, which is truely a joy. No malls for the win!!

A weekend

For the two previous weekends, I've felt overwelmed with work. But this weekend, I have very little work and a lot of time to relax. Before, with the NaNoWriMo project still going on, it's like even if I had time to relax, I couldn't because I was trying to reach 50 000 words. But now, when I can relax, I can actually relax. I'm so happy.

Peir Evaluations

Remember that time I said that others know you better than yourself? Well, it's still true, but I just wish sometimes people will see yourself as a wonderful person. I thought I did a really good job on my presentation on the first ever sea plane today, but some people didn't think so. Like I got three papers saying like 2s and things like that. But, now I'm just trying to get into people's heads and control what they think. I think I do that a lot. And it's good that I know, so I can work on it. I've also been very winy these couple of days because of our Wright planes and how we seem to like have done five planes already. But I guess I just need to be mindful and stop being so winy. So if I sound winy in a post, please remind me!!

Glee

There's this new show called Glee, and all my friends think that I'll love it, but I don't get why. I watched on episode on Youtube, but I don't why they would think I would love it so much. And there's a lot of them that says that. It's weird when people think they know you better than yourself. Then again I think people around you knows you better than yourself any way. It's just weird.

1) My well being and all the people around me's well being
2) My family and friends, love
3) To make a goal in life and work to the best of my abilities
4) Happiness, enjoyment
5) Creativity
6) Integrety

My #1 priority in life:
Do what's best for yourself as well as the people around you.

How would anyone know that ______________ is my #1 priority in life?
I always get things done, and I won't do any thing other people doesn't like. I'll always have others in mind, and I hate having people mad at me. I hate doing the wrong thing that causes either myself or others to be in pain.

Reflections
Think about it: What is the essence of your family? In one phrase or in a few words, describe what you are about.

We want to be doing the right thing. That's our essence in my family, and that's doing the right thing.

Usual blog: We got a new project in English that I feel is a lot like the one in Science we have too. We work in a group and we make a radio broadcast. Except in Science we have a news broadcast about certain flus, and in English we do a radio commercial or things like that in the 1940s. I'd probably enjoy this new project because I just love that time period. And I know fairly more about the entertainment back then than my friends.

Angels and Demons

Angels and Demons is a really great mobvie. The camera work was brilliant, and was the special affects, but most of all the music was superb. It talks about a very long battle between science and religion, and I think through this high speed, heart pounding movie, it's a great way to get people to learn more about the catholic religion. It talked about the moment of creation, and one golden line was, I think, "If science can even claim the moment of creation, then what is there left for god?" I think that shows a really good point. And though I lean towards science rather than religion, I also think that on some level give shows a really great truth to life. I think there should some mysteries in the world that can allow men to think for themselves. Over all, one of the greatest movies I've ever seen, at least.

Christmas Party

I find that many people I know have two faces. They are pretty nice in school, you know, shy, a little wall flower that will never blossom. But online they're like out there and courageous and all that. They are no longer invisible online and instead they are always on and always in your faces. I don't really want to mention any names, but mostly also because they are no one in this school. But take the Christmas Party list for example, people just go crazy on it. I don't know much of the grade 9s, but I'm sure not all of them are as crazy and abnoctious as they are online.

Lots to do

It seems like today I have more projects than ever!! But unlike the other weekend when I was in panic mode, there actually is a lot to do this time. Last time was just a defence mechanism that I use to get all my homework finished. You know when you tell yourself that you have a lot to do, and when you believe yourself it's like you actually start and finish them all before you know it? Well, it's not like that any more!! I've got three days to finish NaNoWriMo, and yes, I'm at the last part of the book, but I've still got 4,000 words to go, and I have to edit it. Plus, I think I'll need more pages than I can get with the end of the story getting oh so near (I'm finding that I'm using "oh so something" a lot more now because Geoffery always says it). And I've still got a lot of homework left, mainly science. And two tests on Monday and Tuesday. PANICING, PANICING, PANICING!!!! (just pretend I just said all that in like 7 seconds, and you'll think it's hillarious!!)

Quote of the day:
"A charming woman is a busy woman." Loretta Young

Well, then, I guess I'll have to stay in panic mode for the rest of my life.

Improved typing skills

Though I'm not as skilled and quick in typing out words than my friends, I feel like I've gained a lot more progress. In grade 3, when we learned how to type, I went to ESL while every one else had a lot of practice in it already. So I was a little behind. I've always been a league of typing lower than my friends from then on. I don't think it'll ever be as good as theirs, but it's improving, which is a good sign. That's what happened for reading as well. I've never had the reading out loud practice like the other kids, so now I read pretty fast in my mind, but really horribly out loud.

Self-evaluation

I just edited my first self-evaluation in highschool, and I hated it!! I've always hated making comments about myself. I feel like others always know you better than yourself. I mean, do I say I'm horrible, or do I say I'm great? Am I great, or am I horrible?? Does it look like I'm a snob if I right good things, but people will think I'm the worst person in the world if I right all bad things!!!??? I DON'T KNOW!! But at least this one was a little easier, I've seen worse.

Lesson 11

Extensions and Reflections

Extensions Lesson 11

What are your greatest strengths?
I can get things done. If I get a problem or project to do and I have a dead line, I'll probably get it finished. I guess that's what I'm really good at. It probably isn't the best one in the pile, but it will always be there, and it's not that bad, either.

What do you deeply enjoy doing?
I love to watch movies, and other creations from other people. It's just so interesting to learn about other people and characters. I just love reading and everything in that consept.

things are most important to you?
My family and friends are really important to me. I think getting the best out of myself and others is pretty important too. And doing my best at all times.

Reflections
Discuss your collective mission as a family. If asked, how would people you know describe your family? How would you want them to describe you? What do you spend your collective family time doing or talking about? What is important to you?

We just want to stick together and make it as a family. Also, we want to get our financial problems out of the way. My friends describe my family as easy going, and they describe me as free and independent. Of course, there are times that I need my parents, but apparently not as much as my friends. We talked about how we can make life easier now and how we can make life easier in the future. It was mostly about my parents and how they can work on their careers, but that was pretty much it.

My usual blog:
I think that today was really easy day. It was relaxing because Angel and I finished our English Project. We didn't do much at Applied Skills. We had a lot of notes to copy from Social Studies. We have just a little quiz next class. Plus we have a little homework from Science, but that's it. It was great.

Ooops

haha, silly me. Actually, I should say silly Ms. Greskiw, I did pass the book test, she just credited Edbert for it. ANd Edbert never did it, she just missed a line or so, because Edbert's name is right under mine. Haha, I'll go talk to her tomorrow.

Today was a very fun day. At Literature club, it turned out that no one did the NaNoWriMo thing except for me. And they were all amazed at 45000 words, I've only ogt 5000 to go!! Well, it's a month, that's a long time. In teh summer I wrote a screenplay that consisted of 126 pages in two weeks time!!

Failed tests II

It was a really weird day today. I didn't pass mt book test, which was on SOS Titanic, one of my favourite books. That was sad because I thought it was really easy, but I didn't get it. I somehow had the feeling that I'll get a B in englsish, which is very weird because I love literature and I want to be a writer when I grow up. But any way, I got a really bad mark on my Chapter 6 of the Pearl sheet, too. We only got half a day to do it, so I understand how I would have gottne a bad mark. It still hurts, though. Angel, however, got the exact opposite. She didn't get into basketball, but I did, and she got really good marks on her tests. I would have good marks over basketball any day. I'm very sad and disappointed at myself. :(

Homework and schedules

Today, I thought I had a lot of things to do. I thought there was no way I could get them finished in two days. But, what do you know, I'm done half the list already, and it's only non on the first day!! I finally get some time to myself, and yet I still feel like something's missing. But if I really think about it, my petri plates are good to go, I've done my first round of the science fair, I'm done my science foldable, and my math and french homework. All I have to do is my english project and practice my violin. That's the hard part though, I'm stuck on my englsih project!!

Hey, guess what, immunizations at school on December 7th and 8th at 3:30 to 7 pm, come and see. This way, I don't have to wait in a long line in a stuffy old clinic!

Basketball

This morning we had a basketball try-out. I sort of missed the last one. But I was there today, and it was very tiring indeed. The exercises was fun, all of them except for the shuffling one. We had two lines and we stood between them, then we ran to each of them. It was so dizzying. Because of that and other reasons, I don't think I'll get in. But then again, all my friends say that I will get in because I'm so tall. Of course, being tall in basketball is a great advantage. I'm still not sure if that's enough. So lets just wait and see.

Well, I guess that's my answer, I'm going to get into the basketball team!! Thanks, MJ.

That is awesome!! But I didn't read the whole thing, so I don't know if it is Wifi for all of us, or just synergy members. I'd benefit either way, but I don't think it'll be very fair. No, wait, why should I care about fair?? I'll be benefiting either way, so why do I care. I'm too nice. I now just hope she approves of it. It's stupid that we can't use the network.

Break-ins

I live in a townhouse property and the other day there were some break-ins. It was not our house that got broken in, though it has happened before. Quite awkwardly I was at camp that day, so I didn't really know what wnt on. My parents say that the thief came in in the morning and ravaged our house messy. They took my mom's jewelery and my toys, which was weird. Last year there were a lot in the winter, and now they are back. I wish they would go somewhere else to steal.

Lesson 10

LessonWorkBookQuizExtensionsFamily ReflectionsGet Go
10DoneDoneDoneDoneDone

Extensions and Reflections

Extensions Lesson 10

What do you look like?
I look confident and sure of myself. I look like I've got nothing to worry about.
things are important to you?
The basic stuff, family, friends, principles, grades, and most of all, trying my hardest.
have you done over the past year with your life?
Not much. I'm in Synergy 9, I've got decent grades, perhaps my circle of friends has changed a bit, for the better of course, and maybe everything else can stay the same.
How would your friends describe the "year from now" you?
Exactly the way they've described me for the past six years of my life. I'm hard working adn I'll get what ever that needs to be done done. That I'm not the craziest, or the prettiest, but my grades just balance that out.

Reflections
Discuss your family's future: what does it hold for you? Are you going to have the relationships that you want with each other? As a family, are you making things happen, or are you on autopilot?

Actually, my family all agrees that the life that we live right now is pretty good. Maybe we can work on the way to talk to each other. We're sort of in a financial rut, but who isn't these days. We can work on working around each other's schedules, and maybe we can save a little bit of money. But there's nothing really that we aren't satisfied with.

My usual blog:
Oh finally!! I finally thought of a name for my NaNoWriMo story. It'll be called Caustic Bliss!! It's it's burning happiness. The story is about a kid and his grandmother dies, and he lived with a murderous uncle, and he always sleeps on the floor, and he helps the Scarlet Pimpernel, and he gives up his life, and his love interest gets shot. But he also has a best friend, and a family that cares about him, and a generous boss. So even though he's been through so much, he always thinks of himself as fortunate, and he doesn't dwell on the things he's lost, but on the things he still has. His friends are really the only good thing in his life. And yet that is the most important thing to him. So burning happiness, burning is bad and it's destroying the happiness, but that's what everyone thinks about his life, but to him, his life is wonderful. Caustic Bliss, coming to a store near you, never.

A day of computers

Today I practically did nothing but stay on the computer. I've alread got 70 pages of my stories done, and I've done a lot on the Social Studies website. I've finished the Departed (which, by the way, wasn't the best movie in the world, if you know what I mean) and I've watched Ocean's Eleven (which I love). Two completely different movies, both of crazy people. Hey, Matt Damon is in both these movies, weird.

A day of reading

Because I failed the book test, I have to do one on Tuesday. That's why I'm reading a new, and easy book. It's called SOS Titanic and I've read it before. But sh, I don't want to parade that fact all around, I don't want Ms. Greskiw thinking that I'm just trying to get marks. Actually, I really like this book and it proved enjoyable to be reading it again. So technically, I'm not just doing it for marks. And besides, I read a lot, and I enjoy it. In fact, my mother just scolded me about how much I'm using my eyes these days. I told her it was homework, and that I don't have to do it if she didn't want me to. Haha, I cornered her there, didn't I?

Christmas Party!!??

That is awesome that MY, sorry, Synergy has our own Christmas Party!! I got the document from the grade 9s just now, and added nachos to the list and commented on some of the comments others made. I've added nachos to the list, awesome mexican food should be at every party, just to spice it up a little. It's really mean what they said about Edward Sissorhands, that was a good movie. But I'm really hoping that we could watch the Titanic!! I'm like obsessed with that movie. That is the movie that got me into movies!! And now I'm like a movie genious, so you can imagine how much influence that movie gave me.

Failing Tests

Today I didn't exactly fail all my tests, but I got a couple that I wasn't fully satisfied with. I got a 12 out of 20 on my book test and now I have to do another one. I got a 41.5 out of 50 on my socials test, but I think I got one of the good marks in the class. And I think I did really bad on my science test. But then again it can always be better, or worse, than I expect it. A lot of my friends got worse than me. I only know that Nancy got a 42 out of 50 on the socials test. I'm a little down, but it'll all be oaky, I hope.

Quote of the day:

Science Cheat-sheet

Oh, no!! Why do I always do this?? I printed out my science cheat sheet and I forgot to look it over, and now I think I've missed a lot of things!! Oh, no. I never learn, do I??

Today was the block rotations, and I hate it. I got so used to my first schedule, and everything worked out fine. Now I have PE in the morning, and it's just horrible. You don't have enough energy when you are there, and you are tired for the rest of the day.

I'm just a big complainer today, aren't I??

Furniture

Today my family bought a lot of new stuff. I finally got a huge boss chair that I've wanted since a long time ago, and we got a new frame work for some big mattress-like cushions. Though I didn't help assemble anything, instead I finished my Science Cheat-Sheet, which, by the way, isn't that easy. Ms. Smedley told us to write a cheat sheet (it isn't an actual secret, illegitimate cheat sheet) and we were supposed to write everything in Chapter 1 on one piece if paper, one side!! It was so hard to actually squeeze all the information in. I had to make it the smallest font.

Extensions and Reflections

Extensions lesson 9
1) Get yourself into groups of five or six and create a scene, commercial, role play, poem or song that best illustrates the ideas behind The Pause Button

Mary: Yo, what's up??
Jake: Where were you yesterday? I waited at the coffee house for ever!!
Mary: Oh, I'm sorry, my mom's still sick, so I couldn't make it. I left you a message.
Jake: Well it's still your fault PAUSE!! Wait a minute, not getting that message was my fault, why didn't I check? And her mom was sick, that is a really good excuse, alright, fine. UNPAUSE!! Well that's alright, just give me a heads up a little earlier, other wise it's fine.

2)Write in your journal about a quote by Theodore Roosevelt.
Quote of the day:
"Courtesy is as much a mark of a gentleman as courage." Theodore Roossevelt

Indeed, and you should use the pause button once in a while so that you make sure you are alsway nice. Even if some one is being mean to you, you can ignore it and focus on how you can make this situation better rather than making it worse. And it actually takes courage to be nice rather than be mean. People will look at you as if you can't be aggresive, but instead they are the ones that are making the mistake.

Reflections
Decide on a family code word or phrase to remind each other to count to 10 before sinking into a "reactive rant zone." Post your Press Pause phrase on your fridge.

Ours is "hold it". I've used it three times already, but I think my mom's getting a bit annoyed with it. But haha, she can't do anything about it because she thinks I learn very good morals in the go program and she wants to set a good example.

My usual blog: We have our first real science test on friday. I'm so nervous!!!! But I can study a lot tomorrow, and I mean a lot. I already know my notes pretty well,a dn I can understand every aspect we've learned. And yet I feel like I don't understand any of it. I guess it's because I haven't really sat down for a long time and really studied. I do review my notes every weekend.

I've already done my quote of the day, so yeah.

super old songs from the dead

Today I added onto my collection of super old songs. They were Stand by Me, song by Seal, Unchained Melody, song from Ghost, and Can you feel the love, song from Lion King, song by Elton John, I think. This is why I'm different from other hiphop liking kids. I like songs that my mom even thinks old. I'm so weird, yet so awesome.

The Forum

It seems like I'm on the computer more and more each day. It's either I'm posting on my blog, or going on my email, or working on the NoNoWriMo project, or I"m on Mr.Sale's Forum. I guess that's highshchool. I love the forum for social studies. Apparently I'm one of the few that is actually passing on it. I've got 49/90 so far, and passing is 45/90. It's actually quite enjoyable, in fact, I feel like that's the time that I actually get to have fun (with the exception of watching Friends and the numerous Leonardo DiCaprio movies).

I love old songs, and now they've come back to haunt me. Like Elvis, and the Beatles, and even recent artists like Justin Timberlake and One Republic. Songs that I haven't heard in a long while I'm now listening to. It's actually funny how I could remember all the lyrics, too. Weird!

NaoNoWriMo progress report

So I'm closing up to 10 000 words in my NaNoWriMo project. It's the 6th and I'm done 1/5 of it. But I'm really scared that I'm not going to finish. I still haven't thought of a name for the story yet. I was thinking something about the French Revolution or friendship. But I just can't seem to decide on one. This is usually what happens. I can't get a title until I totally get the whole story in my head. There are scenes that come to me from the story at random times, I guess I'll have to wait for the title to come as well.

Random Singing

Today at lunch, my friends and I somehow got into the mood to sing random songs. So we belched out the best and the worst of the Billboard top 100. It was actually quite refreshing, I haven't had just random fun in a long time. And I feel like it's a really good way to have fun too. Some people like to gossip, others like to make fun of others, what could a couple of goofballs hurt anyone.

The Aviator

If you were to ask me who was the greatest aviator of all time, I would say it was Howard Hughes. He was flying legend, and though he was not exactly what you'd call sane, he was still a genius. He broke many records. I think the H-4 Hercules was the first water plane ever, adn he had built it. Hughes was insane when it came to detail, everything had to be just right. I know him from the movie the Aviator, with Leonardo DiCarpio, directed by Martin Scorsese. In that movei I remember him flying through a bunch of houses. He was defintely insane. He hated germs and the details of opening his milk was crutial. It was a good movie.

Haha!! You were still paranoid, either way!

Day 1 and Day 2

I feel like day 1 is when my brain gets tired and day 2 is when I get physically tired. I'm not an active person, so PE isn't really great for me, and I've got that on day 2. My day 1 binder is miraculously heavier than my day 2 binder. That explains that I've gt a lot more homework on day 1. I think it's kind of neat, since then I don't have to be physically and mentally tired on both days. Middle years, I'm sorry, Synergy, really is kind of like a vacation. Yes, you do get a lot of wodk, but you're also expected to do horribly in PE, perfect!!

Quote of the day:
"Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army." Edward Everette

But isn't liberty mean equality to all? Then there would be no equality if you've got guns and people who are authorized to use them for occasions that others are not allowed to. So, yeah, I guess he's right.

Extensions and Reflections

Extensions Lesson 8
Is there an area in your life you are unhappy about or frustrated by-classes, a subject, friends, family, work?

Yes, I am unhappy when people don't do things the way I want them to. But it's mostly friends that do that.

are you unhappy about or frustrated by? For example, do you feel powerless, hopeless, or used? Describe the situation.

I can't seem to get my friend Angel to focus on her work, and being her partner in a lot of projects, it's bringing my grades down too. I feel powerless because every time I talk to her, she says sh'ell do it, but then she just leaves me to do her share as well.

have you been responding? What do you do? What is your attitude?

I've been trying my hardest to ask her to do what she need to do. I guess I should understand her a little better, I'm sure she ahs her reasons.

other (more proactive) ways might you respond to this situation?

I could not complain about her not doing her work. I could just do it all myself, or I should see the things that she has done.

this situation comes up during the week, remember to take a moment and choose your response. Set up an action plan with steps on how to change your reactive reaction to one where you are more in control and feeling better about the situation.

I should first try to understand her schedule and how busy it is. I then should ask her once more about her work, adn maybe I should really see how much she's already done.

Reflections
I'm going to make my own lunch since I don't like my mom's lunch. I'm going to organize my time so that I don't feel so busy and I won't blame others. I'll help my friends with their schedules so that I could see how busy they are as well. And I could do a lot more than that!! (Using more proactive language as well)

My usual blog:
Why do authors have such a good way with words. Like Jane Austen, I mean, her language is so pretty and brilliant, but it also sounds so easy and fluent. When I try to use more fancy language in my writing, it always comes out as if I'm trying too hard, which I am!! Well, maybe it just sounds like that to me because it's my writing. Ms. Greskiw says our own writing always looks different in someone else's eyes, so that's why I'm getting my friends to read it. Peir editing, right?

Quote of the day:

While others went out trick or treating, I finished all my homework. So today I called my friends and they're freaking out because they have homework they don't understand due tomorrow. And then I tell them how I finished my homework yesterday and rub the fact in their faces!! I felt so powerful and sooo much better than others. But then that feeling died down when I realized that I've still got French left, and probably more homework on Monday, and a big project due on Friday!!!

Ha!! It's not you who failed, it's Tesla who is failing for you. He's the real genius!! Have you even seen the posters up at Churchill!

Homework, homework, homework

I don't understand how poeple can go to so many out of school activities and still get their homework done. I can barely get ends to meet when I've got nopthing to do at home. We have so many things due on Monday and Wednesday. It's a good thing I just spent the whole morning doing my homework then. No wait, and I'm still not done!!. Well, I guess I have a lot of things to do as well. One huge thing is NaNoWriMo. I only have 5 pages done, I need to get a move on!!

Quote of the day:
"Charlie Brown is the one person I identify with. C.B. is such a loser. He wasn't even the star of his own Halloween special." Chris Rock

Did you know, Charlie Brown was first called Peanuts. It's just a fact that a lot of people know.

Watermania

Today we went to go swimming with our PE classes. I went on the diving boards for the first time. It was like at that split moment of freedom in teh air before the dreadful water hits with a slash on contact. My friends and I have been to Watermania alot, and there are things that I must accomplish. I was first on the waterslids for the 700th time today. And we all went to the deep end of the wave pool. It really makes you feel dizzy after a couple of minutes there, floating. But over all, I had a great time.

Extensions and Reflections

Extensions Lesson 7
Scenario A
If you were reactive, what might you say?
I might go and talk behind her back. Or I might say that I can't do anything about it, that she's going to be really mean and I just can't stop her, no matter how much I try.

If you were proactive, what would you say?
I would go and ask her why she was saying things like that, or if they were true, or if I can do something better so that it can become a false statement.

Scenario B
If you were reactive, what might you say?
I would say that it's all her fault and that this would have never happened if she did things right, and that I'm no to blame on this one.

If you were proactive, what would you say?
I would keep trying to tell her the reason and explain how it's my fault but also tell her how I feel.

Reflections
Listen this week as a family, and catch each other using reactive language. Be proactive! Talk the talk of someone with self-control.

My mom: I just can go to work and finish that homework for college at the same time!
Me: Oh, yes you can, you just need to organize your time schedule a little better

My dad: There's always people here on Heather St, why can't they park somewhere else?
Me: Well, you're parking here too, maybe we can think of a better place.

My mom: I have to make you dinner now, don't I?
Me: You don't have to, mom, you just decide to. I can do it today, if you like.

My usual Blog:
So today was quite a busy day. Also got a lot of homework. That's why I did go to the Halloween dance, one, I was scared I was going to get a lot of homework, two, I didn't have anything to wear, adn three, I didn't have the money for the ticket. Oh, well, I can go next time. I think it'll feel very weird go to a dance that I didn't help with. I mean, at Elementary school, my friends and I always hosted the dances. We got everything together and talked to the principle and the parents and the staff. We ran out and bought stuff and decorated the whole place. Well, new experiences, right?

Day of no events

Today, besides the usual, nothing really happened. I went to math, then french, then lunch, then PE, and finally strings. I guess should say nothing fanastic and unique happened today. Oh, there was a skit about the Halloween dance, but I'm not going. Oh, and we teased our friends about liking each other, well, they do that all the time. Lets hope everyday is like this, so no once will have any trouble.

Independent Reading Program

I just found out great information. I don't have to read 5 books for the Independent Reading Program for an A, I just have to get 10 points. And I've already got 3 of that ten points, and I just did a test that gets me 5 points if I got perfect on it. So that'll be 8 points for 2 books. I'm reading my 3 book, and it's worth 3 points, and I'll be dont the Program!! That's great!! And I thought we had to read 5 books, what a nerd. XD

Quote of the day:

Wowwww, life's certainly not school, then.

Forever Young

The song Forever Young has been remade by more than ten artists, I think. It's ridiculous, I mean, I love the song, but I just love the first two made. You know, the classics. It just gets boring when so many people sing it.

There is this contest called NaNoWriMo, the National Novel Writing Month, I think. It's a contest, in a way, and you write 50 000 words in a month. So it's like finishing a novel in a month. I learned it from Literature Club,a dn I really want to do it. I'm just not sure if I've got the skill, and time, of course.

Quote of the day:
"Experience is a great teacher." John Legend

He is? Well, maybe we should get him to work at Churchill then.

Wallace and Gromit

Today I watched a movie about the two unforgettable classic characters called Wallace and Gromit. They are so funny!! I've been watching their movies since I was 8 years old. Though it's a great series, I think they don't make it any more. It's about this Wallace, a hillarious man who is oblivious to everything, and his dog, Gromit, who always gets him out of trouble. Wallace loves cheese and in one of the movies thought that the moon was made out of cheese and went to explore it. They are inventors as well. I'm just throwing in everything I can think of right now. Uh, Gromit is the typical English character, you know, who lives on 71st and takes his paper to work at exact 8:30 every morning, that knid of guy. Except he's a dog. It's really is just a classic.

Titanic

I feel like I've dove into movies this weekend, I've already watched 4 movies and it's not even Sunday yet. I'm watching my absolute favourite right now, that's the TITANIC. It's the highest grossing movie of all time, realing in $1.8 billion. It also had one of the biggest budgets, 200 million. It was said that Titanic the movie cost more than the real ship. 2,200 people on board that might, only 700 peole survived. It's so sad! Two things people should never talk to me about, and that's Titanic or the French Revolution. I'd either just keep talking or I'd shred you to pieces if you disagreed with me.

Quote of the day:

Hopefully that's not someone's real name.

Ocean's Thirteen

I'm currently in the progress of watching the movie Ocean's Thirteen. But I'm not getting it very much. It's still hillarious, though. Again, it feels like the FBI or the CIA is useless, they are about to blow away a huge hotel, and it's like no one cares at all!! It's so funny. They're also driving the customers all away, and no one's even noticed.

Quote of the day:

Well, we are talking about movies, Brokeback Mountain, anyone?

Lesson 6

Extentions and Reflections

Extentions Lesson 6
Situation #1

How was Leilani proactive or reactive?
She was proactive because she didn't look at how her teacher didn't give enough time for the report, instead she looked at how it was her fault and decided to fix it.

Situation #2

How was Karl proactive or reactive?
Karl was reactive because he blamed the weather for stopping them from having fun, then complained the whole day about something he couldn't control.

Situation #3

How was Brittany proactive or reactive?
Brittany was proactive because she decided she thought about what she wanted and instead of complaining about not getting the part, she decided to comtribute in different ways, in the end haveing more fun.

Reflections
At home, when is your family highly reactive? How can you help each other be more proactive?

We always blame stuff on others and we don't really think about if it is our fault. Only on occasion we do. I think we should start to think about others a little more and think about how we can change the problem instead of letting the others clean the mess we made.

My usual blog: I've never been that sporty kind of person, I've always liked to curl up for a book. But I do like playing sports at times. Like today, I went to the basketball open gym. Only Winnie and I went, and all we did was dribbling and faking out other people, we barely had time for a game. And somehow I got the impression that they think I'm really bad at basketball. Looks like I'm not getting into the team, then.

Quote of the day:
"A lifetime of training for just ten seconds." Jesse Owens

I know that I've already used his quotes, but he just reminds me of one of my favourite books, the Book Thief. One of the characters that I really like loved this guy, he even coloured himself in coal and pretended to be Jesse Owens. That boy died in the end, so sad.

Ideal Mini

Ideal Mini School is so small!! Some of my friends went to that school, and they came for the Newfeed meeting at lunch today, and they showed me Ideal. It's one hallway!! ONE!! It's smaller than our Elementary school!! And for gym, they get an hour of free time, instead of running three laps and doing push-ups. For I second I was actually considering going to Ideal, one main reason is because some of my really close friends are there, but only for a second. First of all, I love big schools, there's more importunities that way. And second, it's always been my dream to go to IB, and if I do go to Ideal, I'll know I'll also need to get used to Churchill. But it does look like a nice place, I just wish my friends didn't think so, so that they cen come to Churchill.

Book tellers

Today we went to the Writers' Festival. It was really fun to listen to the authors of the books. It's like meeting the creater of a world you love. Though I've never read their books, I understand the feeling of that union. It was especially awesome for me because I love books and I want to write my own someday.

One of the authors looks like a crazy guy, but I think those guys write the best books because they can be sucked into their own world and express it on paper. Now, that's what I'm worried about. I'm not crazy at all!! But I do love to make my own worlds sometimes. I get these visions of scenes in a movie, and I sort of just build around that. The problem with that is that it's hard to think of a story if you've got just that one scene, but it's also really fun. You get to control everything!! If you want a forest, you get a forest, if you want a serial killer, you get a serial killer. But then the story has got to make sense as well. I still think it's awesome, though.

Spoilers

I've finished the Bourne Identity, and the ending was absolutely fantastic, nothing you would ever have expected!! He's not who is thinks he is. That's all I can tell you because I know people hates spoilers. I don't understand why people don't like spoilers, I love them. I get to know what I'm about to read and it's awesome to know what's going on. And it's fun to remember what my friends told me when things happen and what's the follow up. I just don't get it!!

H1N1 Flu Virus

The new H1N1 flu virus is going around quickly. Many of our classmates, for some reason a lot of them Syngery kids, has been away. Numbers have gone from 2-3 kids away to 5-6 kids away. I've noticed those certain people that have been away quite a lot./ Among them is a girl called Jamie, I don't think I've seen her since Monday. Oh, no!! What if she's been infected?! Let's just hope we see her tomorrow!

CIA FBI and the Secret Service

I feel like every movie with the FBI and the CIA in it, it's like they're always the stupid ones, always being tricked into believing the bad guys. It's hilarious!! The criminal walkes right under their nose and they don't even know. I wonder if the real services in the US are like this.

Quote of the day:

Book Obsession

I feel like it's really important that you enjoy what you read, because if you don't, why read it then? I love the book I'm reading right now. It's called the Bourne Identity, I'm like speeding through it. It's about this guy, and he was thought to be one of the biggest assassins of all time, involved with a company call Treadstone Seventy-one. But as a result of a freak accident, he lost his memory. To have tremendous skills with lying, false identities, and lethal weapons, you would think he was a well paid assasin. But he's not what he thinks he is, nor does anyone in the story have the full picture. Instead, all having bits of the truth, including him, and quickly jumping to conclusions. It's awesome!!!!

It's actually quite ironic that I'm reading this in the first place. I'm big on movies, I've seen a lot of them, classics, mostly, but others as well. I've just never seen the Bourne series, I don't know why, I mean, I knew it was a huge movie and all, but it never came across my mind to watch it. Now that I think about it, I've seen very little Matt Damen movies, but I have seen him in Ocean's Eleven series (which is also great, much better than the one made 30 years ago). See? I watch a lot of old movies, one's like Casablanca and Gone With the Wind, to Shakespeare in Love and the TITANIC!! And to movies like Ocean's Eleven and Catch Me if You Can. I should really consider a career in directing, no wait, already have, just don't think those kinds of things will ever happen to me. I want to be a director is badly!! But I know that I probably am never going to be one in this life time. But that's okay, a girl can dream.

Quote of the day:
"We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort." Jesse Owens

First of all, he's totally right. And second, remember that book I read before this one? The Book Thief? Well, one of the characters in the book loved Jesse Owens. His name was Rudy Steiner, and when he was small, he wanted to be Jesse Owens. I miss the people in that book.

What are your EBA's like with your family members? Healthy? Bankrupt? What small acts of kindness can you do to start making some deposits for each other?

My family is more on the bigger things. We would usually blame each other if we forgot to do something. Hehe, it's actually really bad, we don't do nice things for each other at all. My dad doesn't like to and my mom thinks it's just fake. Personally, I like the little things, but I think the bigger things are much more important. Yes, we might not be that nice to each other, but we know if we had any trouble, we can count on each other. So in a way, our EBA is bankrupt, but I guess with all the things we do for each other, it should even out nicely.

My usual blog:
There's not much to talk about today. It's just that I've finally finished my science fair proposal, but I have a feeling mine is too complicated. I mean, I'm going to test oven cleaners and how good they clean. The amount of cleaner used, the chemicals in each one, the time it takes to clean it, and worst of all, I don't know how to test how much bacteria is in the oven!! I was hoping Churchill had something like that, but I can hear Ms. Smedley now,"Sorry, we don't have anything like that, you're going to have to think of something else." Oh god, then I'll be at square one again. Well, not exactly, I do have some backups, but I like this one the best!! And plus, if the proposal's denied, you're just wasting valuble time!! Democratic discussion

Today at Social Studies we had a huge talk about Tibet and China. Whether Tibet should be free, whether the Chinese should let them be free, is the Americans doing this for their benefit, so on adn so forth. In my opinion, I don't have one. I did state the obvious, though. I think that's the smartest if you have two sides of an argument and you don't want either to hate you. In my opinion, I don't have one.

Time Management

I went to my old school today, and let me tell you what a mistake that was!! I went to get advice from a former IB student about what to do for my science fair project, which is really become a nuicseince. But in the end I found a way.

Too bad the bus I usually take has changed it's route since the Canada line was built. I had to transfer three different buses!! Three!! It took a very long and harsh time.

Once I got home, I started furiously doing my homework. I eventually got it finished, but I noticed we had a violin test to practice for. So here I am now, doing my last bit of homework before I can relax!! But after that, I need to finish my book and go on my email. My life is so hard!! I need to work on my time management so I can get everything done and actually have time to relax.

Happy Thanksgiving

The history of Thanksgiving dates back to September 8, 1565, or well Known as the first Thanksgiving. The first day of thanks took place in what is now known as Saint Augustine, Florida. It was a traditional reunion to giving gratitude for the year's harvest. For us Canadians, Thanksgiving occurs on the second Monday of every October. It was meant to be celebrated in churches for the Parliament was in reference to God and gave thanks to him. Today the traditional celebration happens in homes in all of Canada as a way to reunite family and a day to give thanks.

That was just a little insite of Thanksgiving so that I can practice my non-fictional writing abilities.

Science Fair

Okay, so the Science fair proposal is due next Friday and I don't have a clue what to do. I absolutely cannot do something with animals except for fish because my parents hates animals. But fishes don't do much. So it's down to the plants, but I don't know anything about them. Maybe electricity, but I don't know what variables can be in that. I did have a good idea about the radio waves and sound waves that different brands of Mp3 gives off. But how can I test that?? My friend who is now in her 3rd year of UBC is helping me, but she did an experiment on the chemical reactions of the brain and coffee. I don't know how I can be able to do my.

Projects projects projects

I feel like a million projects are due next wednesday!! There's the Spongebob drawing and the 6 view drawing, science foldables and the sceience fair purposal and a socials map of Europe. Great!! I'm not complaining, I just feel like a little bee holding too much for it to handle, and in teh end toppling over. I eventually finish everything, it's just that's I get so exausted after that. I don't understand how other kids can sleep at 4am when I just pass out at 10:00.

Okay, there is something wrong with both my computer and my printer. When I print something, it doesn't tell me that a colour of ink is gone, it just prints out another colouor. Say if it's a yellow colour, it'll come out red. Crazy!!!! What is up with that?? And my computer is alwasys telling me there is an intrusion from some type of internet source. And when I clean my computer to detect any viruses, which, by the way, takes 3 hours, it says that nothing was detected. And the next time I go on, it tells me again. I don't get it!!

Lesson 3:
Create a scene, commercial, role play, poem, or song that best illustrates one of the following principle statements.

1) If you don't do what you say, people won't trust you.
Commercial

Bob: Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, we are here to look at a new item today. It is called How to Break Trust in 2 Days, by: Elmer Fudd.

Now lets view some scenarios in her book. Number 1, have you forgotten to do your sister's chores after she helped you on your math homework? Well, forget about it, that dumb old prima donna should do her own chores! Number 2, how about if you've just noticed you were supposed be at a meeting you forced your friends to go when, really, they hate it to the guts? Well, now they'll hate you to the guts, isn't that wonderful. And finally, foor your whole life, you've promised your Great-grandmother you would go to her funeral when she dies, and when she really did die, you went bowling instead. Isn't bowling so much more fun than crying over your dead relatives??

This is a limited time offer, folks, and supply is surprisingly low, you can get this one of a kind book for just $19.99, that's right, $19.99. And if you call in the next 30 minutes, we'll double the offer. That's right, 2 copies for the price of one, just pay seperate shipping and handling.

Lesson 4:
PART A

You are riding your bike on the outskirts of town, down a quiet country road. There's a steep hill along the road that you hate to climb but love to coast down. Just as you reach the top, you see a small group of children-they're no more than six or seven years old-huddled by the side of the road. You see them notice you, so you're sure they'll stay out of your way as you zoom down the hill.

You start into your coast, picking up speed, and everything is going along great until you pass the group of children. All of a sudden, a rocks comes sailing through the air and hits you on the side of your head! You can't believe it-one of those kids has pitched a rock at you at a moment when you could easily have lost your balance and wrecked at high speed.

1) What feelings do you have, or think you might have, after reading Part A?
Wow, that's a little mean. I mean,t he kid's got to mind their own business, and they shouldn't be throwing rocks at all.

2) What would you say and do in this situation?
I would stop and ask if it was them who threw the rock, if it was, I would tell them to not do that ever again and it's very dangerous, if it wasn't them, then I'll carry on what I was doing.

Part B
After stopping and talking to the kids you find out that one of them is in the ditch at the side of the road with a serious injury and needs to go to the hospital, they had been trying to get someone to stop, and the only way to get your attention was to throw the rock.

1) What feelings do you have, or think you might have, after reading Part B?
Well, if that was the only way, then I would actually feel sorry for the children (especially the one in the ditch) and I would want to help them.

2) What would you say in this situation?
I would tell everyone not to panic and I that would help them in every way I can. Then I make a plan, which is only needed if this scenario became reality.

Reflections

Lesson 3:
Principles are timeless and lead to success. What principles does your family live by?

We must be as honest as possible. We must be trust-worthy and work hard to keep the trust people have in us. We must do our best at all times, and sometimes that means resting. Finally, we must do the right thing, it doesn't matter if any one's there to see us or not, we always do the right thing. And if there are times we screw up, we have to make the situation right.

Lesson 4:
Your Point of View (POV): Talk about a family situation in which someone had a limited POV, and discuss what led to the POV shift.

When I wanted, for the first time in my life, to attend my friend's birthday party, I would have done anything to go. I wailed and screamed when I dad told me that both my parents' schedules didn't fit with the party. I didn't know back then how hard my parents worked for our living, and I couldn't see past that and only thought they didn't want me to go. Finally, my mom took her day off, even though her boss didn't want her to, and accompanied me to the party. She didn't know how to drive at the time, and my dad couldn't get out of work, so we took an hour long bus ride there, and my mom had to stay with a bunch of 7-year-olds for the whole party (which was 3 hours). My mom sat in the corner the whole time, she looked so lonely with her book in her lap, and that's when I realized that my parents had gone through a lot to make me happy, and really, it wasn't a necessity to go to that party. After that I felt terrible, so I told my mom that we could go a little early. In the end, I missed the birthday cake, but it was worth it because I got to make things right.

Usual blog:
Wow, now that I think about it, I was a spoiled little brat! And we didn't even have the income for a spoiled brat, but that's what I was. Other parents are able to make ends meet even through these kind of things, my mom went through a great risk of getting fired. What kind of sick animal am I?

Great, I'm a curse to the whole world!!! =(

Finally

I finally got how to do the chart!! It only took five people and a number of raised voices. It was much better than the time I learned how to upload and download things. But nontheless I did it!! I'm so proud of myself right now.

Back in Elementary, we only had like 15 minutes of homework, not even on a daily bases. Now, if I finish my homework by 6:00pm, then that'll be a big step. Since now there are projects in almost every Synergy subject, I feel like I'm working to impress, but I'll never get finished. I take so long on everything to make sure they're perfect, but I need to learn that sometimes speed is required as well.

Ha!! He's totally right, I love this guy!

The Literature Club

Today was the first meeting of the Literature Club, Yah!!!:) Well, really it was really awkward, I was the only grade 8 there, we had to do a "backbone poem", where everyone gives a word and you write a poem from them, and I couldn't understand the words that were given, it was so embarrassing. But nonthless, I will stick to it and perhaps even make some friends from the fellow writers, who, by the way, are mostly grade 11s.

Hey, that's what we learned in the Go program!!

CS students

Two CS students were at Applied Skills today. As they worked, they also talked to us. Apparently they were also in Middle Years and now are in IB. Hopely I would be them someday.

Quote of the day:
"Nine-tenths of wisdom is being wise in time." Theodore Roosevelt

Now funny thing about this guy is that he's the famous one, while Franklin Roosevelt, his uncle, I think, did all the glorious things. The only thing Theodore did was have Teddy Bears named after him.

Spongebob's Birthday Party

We're supposed to draw Spongebob's Birthday Party for our perspective work. I've noticed that Spongebob is miraculously easier to draw than the other characters. But I am determined to draw them to their perfection (Which is highly unlikely for me to accomplish, but nonetheless, it must be done).

I have finally finished The Book Thief, and let me tell you what a sad story it is. In the end all but the protagonist dies. All her friends, her family, everything she ever knew was ruined. And the sad part is that she's German. Though she was a Counter-Nazi, she was still German. Hitler had the guts, he knew many Germans would die in War or even in their own houses, but he did it anyway. He himself wasn't even German!!

Don't even get me started on this guy, this Russian ruiner.

life is a battlefield

It is a battlefield, not only do you fight with your enemies, you also fight with yourself. You fight viruses and unpleasant thoughts. Overall, life is hard.

Quote of the day:
"Not life, but good life, is to be chiefly valued." Socrates

See, now he's never fought something like a virus. Life is good, hard good.

Homework plus Ralph Marston

Extentions:

Lesson 1:
The 7 Habits

1)Be Proactive G. b.
2)Begin With the End in Mind D. c.
3)Put First Things First C. g.
4) Think Win-Win B. f.
5)Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood F. e.
6)Synergize A. d.
7)Sharpen the Saw E. a.

Lesson 2:
My Goals:
My goals are to get more involved in school, to get good grades and to have fun in High school. Farther off in High school, I want to get into IB, hopefully get a scholarship. Farther into the future, I would like to go to a descent university and study history and literature. Maybe have a family and, well have fun, enjoy life. But right now I'm working on not getting sick.

Successful
Mattering the important things
Arange future
Rest is also important
Time management

My Smart goal:
To stay on task for anything I do, to think and plan my future carefully, letting go of the not-so-important and grasping to important things, to plan my life both short-term and long-term, and to rest and enjoy my life.

So, that was the expensions, now the reflections:
Lesson 1:
If someone were to describe your family character, what would he or she say? What character qualities are high on your family list?

Our family thinks a lot about each other and cares for one another. My family is also very intellegent and focused. They strive to get what they want, yet planning around other's schedules. At times it doesn't work out, but then we still have each other. My family describes me also as intellegent and hard-working, that I care a lot for my family and none that troublesome, unlike other kids.

Lesson 2:
What are your family goals? Is there anything you would like to accomplish together?

Well, my family says that there's nothing we can't do if we stick together. My parents want a house someday, a place to call our own. But they heavily care for my education as well. My parents are also hoping for a job that's not to tiresome, so it can last when they grow old. My family's morals are quite like mine, or should I say that my morals come from those of my parents.

Alright, that was the extensions and reflections, so that part's done. I've also finished the workbook lessons and the quizzes, in which I got 100% on both tests!! :) So now both lessons are done. I'm only doing this until I find out how to make a chart on Blogger, (which I will in a period of time)

So to my real blog. Today was an interesting day. My throat hurts and I drank 3 liters of water. One of my worst fears are washrooms. I just hate public washrooms. So you can imagine what a dilema that was when I've got 3 liters of water in my system. Why am I putting myself through this? First of all, it's just good to drink lots of water, and second, my throat hurting is usually the first signs that I'm going to be sick, which I dread. Not only is it now dangerous to get sick because of the H1N1 virus, but I just don't want to miss class. It's the first month of school, and this is high school, you'll miss a lot more information from a lot more teachers. I can't afford to be sick. So, even if it means public washrooms, I'm going to at least hold on until Winter Vacation, then I can relax a little. But lets hope I don't get sick at all this year. Hey!! That's a goal!

I don't understand

I don't get how to do The premier Go instructions. Like I can't find a way to make a chart with blogger, or I don't know where the extentions are, that kind of stuff. I'm so confused!!!(Nevermind, I found the extensions)

I feel like day 1 is when I'm mentally tired, and day 2 is when I'm physically tired. All in all, I feel like I'm always tired.

Quote of the day:
"I don't know anything about music. In my line you don't have to." Elvis Presley

Not true, Elvis Presley is one of the most fantastic artists of all time!!!

Newsfeed

I joined the newsfeed club on club's day adn they had a meeting today. I was surprised to see my friends from Ideal there. I rarely get to see them. I miss them. I'm really scared of loosing them. I've been their friend since grade 2. I'm sad now. :(

Maybe I can become a journalist someday. But then I'll probably have to write about dangerous stuff, and is forced to go to dangerous places. I'm so confused as to what to do when I grow up!!!

And when you left the Old World, you found the New World. And it was filled with "Indians", wasn't it, Chris?
