About Me

My photo
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Okay, sup? How you doing? Good! But you're probably here to know about me. I'm Sophie and I'm 15, grade 9, Asian, bla bla bla. I like a lot of stuff! Like books, music, MOVIES (if you want to know which ones, just go down to the bottom)! I want to be a director when I grow up, sooooo fun!! And I've got lots of friends, well, not lots, but a fair bit. People call me hard-working, or just a nerd. I am a nerd, a hard-core nerd, you got a problem with that? Good. I'm also just hard-core, I mean, I've got people's backs, I fight for what I believe in, I say what's on my mind, I don't sway with the crowd. Yeah, anything else? If you have any more questions (Which you probably don't, because you probably know me in real life, and you'll know that Sophie Tribiani doesn't exit, at least I hope I didn't steal someone else's name o.O....) Just read some of my posts, I've got lots!

I'M BACK

Okay, I'm back which means time to get to work once more. There's no Gdocs in China, but surprisingly there is gmail, so I've been holding back on working. I don't have much left, really, just English and Socials.

Enough of that, good morning at 2:24 in the afternoon, just got up.

Learning from Inception

Okay, so rewatching Inception like right now, and actually taking notes on what's being said and how the message is getting across. That's how serious I am about writing screenplays and making movies, seriously. I found that the information is given subtly, but given several times and once loud enough to make emphasis. As well, it needs to be a mix of both action and talk, one leading to the other. My screenplay for Greekology is really old style. Because there were so many gods to introduce, there was sooooo much dialogue, like a 60s movie.

This is all so that Witness can come out the best result. I want it to be great! I hope I don't screw up!

What a great movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Witness

Officially now, I've made Witness into a screenplay. Well, I am going to for Script Frenzy this year. It'll be a really good movie. Better book before movie, but it's not like I have the time to do both. It's the best movie material I have to offer because all my other ideas are strictly book, then maybe adapted screenplay, never a movie on its own. I've got to remember to write more often, because I don't know if I'm missing some days off of April because I'm in China. It's not like I'll have unlimited access to Google there. Aha, jk jk.

Pic of the day:
This is my account video, and yes, J, in a perfect world, would be played by William Moseley, and 9, Kaya Scodelario. I can't lie. This was meant for a Katniss/Peeta pic, but I'm being arbitrary.

China

Yes, happy Gavin? I've named a post China.

Anyways, off to, where do you think, on Tuesday, so don't be scared if I wondrously disappear for a week, I didn't die. I'm just China. Yes, there is a difference, for all you haters out there.

I haven't been back in 8 years, which is a pretty long time. In that period of time, farthest I've gone is Seattle. I deserve a long plane flight and lots of hours of jet-leg. Have fun me.

This is also the reason why now I am mass posting so that I can make sure my count is still up even if I miss a week.

Pic of the day:
Gavin must be really really happy right now!

The OC

I went back and watched the OC a bit again these couple of days, and it's hilarious because the Land of Women is on like right now, and Adam Brody's in it, and he's Seth on the OC.

This might be unknown facts to people I've met in highschool, but I used to really love the OC. I still do, and I miss the gang and so on.

They are somewhat different from the Skins gangs. They are a lot more melo. Honestly, the Skins generations are all like kids who've gone mind numbingly berserk! Ah, I still love them.

Pic of the day:
I do miss them!!!

Charlie Sheen

Honestly, he's got to stop. STOP!!!!!!!! Seriously!!! I was just watching Two and a Half Men, and it's really, well relatively, good. I mean, he's got a good life. I just don't like those people who throw away their good, great life into things that they could control, like drugs. If you have a mental illness, go to a hospital!!!!!!! Don't show it on national television.

Creepy!

Aussies taking over the world

OMGs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Australians really are taking over the world. I heard someone talk in that accent this morning at Metrotown, and I decided to watch some Callan McAuliffe interviews because, he's just my new favourite actor. I hope he's going at it for the role of Peeta, I really do, but I don't know if he is, and now I'm a little sad. Well, at least Alex Pettyfer is going for it, but he should be Jace. UH! This whole world will be better if Jennifer Laurence works on Savage, which she turned down for Hunger Games BTW, and they chose Hailee Steinfeld or Kaya Scodelario for Katniss, if Alex Pettyfer goes and plays Jace and lets Callan McAuliffe be Peeta. A lot better place.

Number six in I Am Number Four is Aussie too. What's in the water down there, really????

Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, also Aussies.

Hunger Games

I've realized that I've had two posts named just Hunger Games and about probably twenty others that had both those words in it. I went to Chapters the other day because I was bored and that was my favourite place, and I skimmed through Mockingjay again. SOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes some books just make you like them once, second time to it, nothing. But Hunger Games isn't like that at all!!!!! Still get tingles down my back just talking about it!!

Triumf trip tomorrow, who's busing??

The Shining Movie Analysis

First and foremost, I'd like to say that Jack probably didn't just go crazy from isolation, but was crazy to begin with. Of course, in the end we find out that he's been crazy all this time and this happens every year with him.

I'd like to do this analysis a different way, if that's okay, Mr Olson. Instead of just writing what I think, I'm gonna write what questions I have, then my predictions as to what the answers are. So, here we go:

1. Was there a time before 1921 that he's done this?

I don't think so, because every one seems to be from that time frame, but I think that's the year that Jack killed all the members of the working force of Overlook, and that's why they are stuck with him forever in the cycle, just like he's stuck there.

2. Does he have different family every year?

I think so. I think the little girls were his as well. Bu they are not real people, they are just remnants of the people he's killed before. But somehow, the movie talks about a year of which he did get out of the cycle and got a real family as a real person instead of a ghost, and that's why they were able to run away and he didn't catch them.

3. Why do the people keep hiring him then to be the caretaker?

They are all in the cycle too. They don't remember that they've seen and hired him before, and does it every year. They are all dead, every one, and the people who go to the hotel are all dead too. Maybe the hotel never existed after 1921, or it was deserted after the killings, so those people had died there too, no real, live people ever comes to the Overlook again. There's this thing in the Darkest Powers series of books by Kelley Armstrong, about a necromancer, Chloe, and she's able to see echos. Not real ghosts, but what happened to the person who died, playing over and over and over again, forever. I think the Overlook hotel is an echo.

4. What about Dick?

He's in the echo too.

5. Why did Jack go crazy?

I think Jack was crazy from the start, but from what has happened, I think, because he's a writer, he did some kind of research on something that was so traumatizing, he went crazy himself. As well, the pressures of being a caretaker might have been too much. Remember, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Which also states that he was probably left out and in constant work ever since he was a kid, and people might have picked on him and such.

6. What does the Shining have to do with any of this?

Well, it's how we see the echo of a story. Otherwise, if Danny didn't have the Shining, we wouldn't know what happened in the Overlook hotel, because everything's an echo, and not every one can see an echo.

7. What's up with Danny and Tony?

I think the shining refers to part necromancer, part schizophrenic. Like Chloe, in the Darkest Powers.

8. Do I want to go and watch the Shinning now?

Oh yeah.

Electricity

I've just been bombarded out of my own house because there is no more electricity on the first floor, where every single necessary appliance stood. Well, not exactly bombarded, no one came in and took us out, but because I need the computer for work, I had to move out and come to the library. I the like library's keyboard though, that's an upside. But I've only got 20 minutes left, that's a downside. And I can't watch Skins, another down side. Plus, no body will answer my question about debates!!! What are we supposed to do right now????????? I'm with Winnie, who's not returning my email!!!!!!!!

It's just people yelling at each other, what could possibly be good about that?? This is why I don't want to be a lawyer!!

Ray Movie Analysis Cont

Okay, so apparently I didn't make enough connections from the movie Ray with current day life, so I'll attempt to try more.

I already talked about how Ray was like lots of our celebrities today, drugged half the time and have no idea what they're doing and why. But Ray had more passion, he had his music, and his drugging was more understandable by the fact that he was blind and had a bad childhood.

The movie is sorta like life now because so many people are plunging themselves into things that might not have been what they wanted. Ray just wanted to make some money and play his music, but in the end he got drugs from the others of his trade and got in trouble for it, several times.

There's lots of temptation, especially today with so many ads and easy accessible pleasure spots, like the woman on the road. Eventually, even if you fall for the temptation though, you'd learned to give that up and you'd still want a simple family life back. Lots of people today have yet to discover that.

In the eyes of Ray, he was just making music, but in the eyes of the companies, like ABC, this was all just a business deal. Everything's been turned into a business deal these days, nothing's genuine any more.

The movie sometimes introduces events in newspaper or show introductions, as if they were current news, and that sort of brings a feeling that makes you think that the occurrences are of today rather than in the past.

Ray's very modern for his time, refusing to play segregated concerts because he thinks every one's the same, and his mother always telling him that he's equal to every one else. It brings the ideals of today into the past: that every one's equal.

Some of Ray Charles' songs are used by many hip hop artists of today, like Kayne West, and for us, it's like remembering that song and again, bringing up the feeling of the fact that this is in current time. It also brings a closer connection between the people who didn't know Ray Charles to him because of his songs.

He's always smiling! For someone with such a sad past, it's surprising! And inspiring, really!!!!!!!!

BRONZE IN REACH TOURNI!!!!

OMGS WE WON THIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE TOTALLY PWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saints won the actual thing, of course, but if we played Burnaby North before we played Saints, we would've gotten second, honestly!!!!!! We're going for first next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE'VE GOT SUCH A GOOD TEAM, WE'LL TOTES GET THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is like mine and Jamie's first year, so we're still somewhat not experienced. We also lost Gee, who could've pulled in many more points. But next year we won't have the grade 10s. Sad. Ray Movie Analysis

I've got to say, if this movie reminds me of anything, it's got to be Walk the Line. I mean, I know Mr Olson said to find some kind of connection to nowadays, but I've got to say stuff about the similarities between Jonny Cash and Ray Charles.

Both of their brothers died horribly, Jonny's with a saw and Ray's with a tub of water. They're haunted by that day and in turn goes on drugs. They've got great wives and two children, Jonny all girls, Ray all boys. But Jonny's wife left him because he loved June Carter on the road, and he gave up everything for her, whereas Ray's wife stuck with him and therefore he stuck with his wife. They both had lots of time on the road and were deeply addicted to drugs. Their careers flourished around the same time and they both made marks in music history. They got out of drugs and never took them again. Their biopics are also quite similar, if you've seen Walk the Line.

Now as for the connection to today, I would say a lot more of the celebrities of our age are going into drugs and spiraling out of control. Let's just hope they can learn from their mistakes as well as the people before them and learn how to get out of drugs.

Hit the road Jack, and don't you come back, no more no more no more no more hit the road Jack, and don't you come back no more! What you say??

Water for Elephants

Just watched the trailer for Water For Elephants, you know, the new movie with Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson. Yes, weird couple, I know, but it actually looks mighty cool. I'm just saying, don't judge a book by its cover, I think Robert Pattinson has the potential to make good movies, it's just that he needed something big enough to put him on the screen. Though I will never not look at him and point and laugh, I'm sorry.

Doesn't look half bad when he smiles. He's not my type, but I've gotta give the guy a chance

Horrible eyes

It's no secret that my eyes are horrible, like every other person who spends the good part of their day in front of the computer. Actually, no, I try my best to keep my eyes away from computers, TVs and books. Key word there is try. I do feel guilty, but there's not much that I seem to be able to do. Even if I didn't watch TV at all, I still need to read and go on the computer. And besides, life's actually quite boring at my house without all these things. But of course, I'll get out more, run around a little more. I'm starting to take fancy to running. No, I'm lying, that's totally not true, I do it because I have to.

Any ways, in note with my post, I'll end it here.

For the record, that took me less than a minute. I work fast!

Jamie wanted me to find Dakota Blue Richards in the Skins generations, and here you go, Jam Jam: She's in the new seasons, five and six, her name's Franky, and she's part of the third generation, American version, the same one that's causing many problem with parents.

Makeshift Chapter 10

https://sites.google.com/site/sophietribiani/home/it-s-my-fallen-angel/makeshiftchapter10

Koyaanisqatsi analysis

Unusual name comes an unusual movie with no dialogue and no characters. But the message that I think it's trying to portray was one well known to every one: That the world is developing fast. For most of the movie, it's industrialize communities going at a speeding rate. In the beginning of the movie, it showed nature at a regular pace, over canyons and forest, but it quickly goes to abandoned buildings. Nature was the basis of our world, so it came first, then the beginnings of our modern lives were shown with the buildings and their collapses, saying that the old world is done. Then we go to our modern daily lives. Occasionally the shot will slow down to a certain person, and that shows that each individual all have slow and important lives that sometimes is not as fast as the world around it. And yet with all the sped up elevator rides and the train station, you see that we still have to keep up with the chaotic world.

Movies to my eyes!

So today we went GeoCashing, yeah? It's okay if you don't know what it is, it's just a scavenger hunt. Any ways, it was great and all, and it was sunny when we started. But all of a sudden, the sky became really dark and there was a huge gust of wind and hail started to come down! It literally was like something out of the movies! Then, just as suddenly as it had come, it went! It was crazy, by the time we got back to the school, the sky was clear, there was no more hail, it was it never happened! It was sooo weird, it was like Poseidon was trying to tell us something. It was really creepy, but funny! And I got it all of film!!!!!

Finished the filming for Challenge Anit-Homophobia video! We get editing tomorrow!!

Now we didn't see a double rainbow! But we did see a rainbow!

Makeshift Chapter 9 cont

https://sites.google.com/site/sophietribiani/home/it-s-my-fallen-angel/makeshiftchapter9cont

I find that we've been having very little homework lately. Great, now people are going to hate me for bringing it up. They think they can escape homework by not reminding the teacher that we're keeping on the lofty side of work. Frankly, I don't care how much homework we have, and sometimes I say, the more not the merrier, but it will benefit us more in the future. I just wish I could remember more, because I'm scared that we're either not learning enough or that I'm not learning anything at all. I feel I'm at a stop sign in my life, you know? Things are still happening, and every thing's great, it's just that it's a little hard to move forward in school. I'm sure I am, I'm just a little worried. I mean, like for Spanish, lots of things that I learned in Encruentros, I forgot! Same for French from last year!! Some say that there's little point to know so much, if I'm getting an A, then I'm obviously learning and doing great in that subject, so why trouble yourself.

I think Mr Olson's right, I may really be a 35 year old trapped in a 15 year old's body. Seriously, Eddy's still taking naps for god sakes! And I'm thinking about where to go in life and all the big questions! I always said I hate big questions about life. I can barely order a meal without at least 15 minutes to decide, how am I going to know what I want to do when I grow up or how what I'm doing right now is going to affect that. My mom constantly asks me what I want I want to be when I grow up, she's being considerate, but she's also wavering from "Could this possibly happen?" to "What if her talents are spoiled and she can do more?" and "What if she can't, just can't get up there?". And I told her about the quote in The King's Speech, "If one waits for a King to apologize, then one might wait a long time." and I said, "If one waits for a teen to decide what she wants to do in life, one might wait even longer."

Pic of the day:
OMGS, just found this out myself. I was looking on Alex Pettyfer's Wiki page, again. And found that MICHELLE AND JAL ARE IN TORMENTED!! Crazily small world, eh? Michelle and Jal are from Skins Generation 1, which means Alex, if Jace, has met Nicolas Hoult, or Tony, who should be Alec. And if he's Peeta, he's met Kaya Scodelario, or Effy, who should be Katniss. I know bit confusing.
